I used Posh Yarn Lucia 4 ply sock weight 70% merino/30% cashmere yarn (shade 'Alto') 1 skein, and 2.5mm needles
CO 60 sts, divide equally among 3 needles, join for working in the round, place marker after first stitch or rely on the tail end of the yarn to mark the place.
Cuff
Round 1: k3, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k3, yo, k1, yo. Note, remember yos when moving between needles!
Round 2: knit
Work rounds 1 & 2 6 times in total
Knit 6 rows
Then begin working the leg (see below) using the following
Willow leaf pattern or WLP as referred to throughout:
WLP 1: yo, k3, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k3, yo, k1
Rounds 2, 4, 6 & 8: knit)
WLP 3: k1, yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k2
WLP 5: k2, yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k3
WLP 7: k3, yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k4

Heel flap
k15, turn, sl 1, p29. Hold remaining 30 sts on 2 needles to be worked later for the instep.
Row 1: (RS) sl 1, k 29
Row 2: (WS) sl 1, p 29
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until a total of 30 rows have been worked.
Turn heel
Work in short rows as follows:
Row 1: (RS) sl 1, k19, sl 1, k1, psso, turn.
Row 2: (WS) sl 1, p10, p2tog, turn.
Row 3: (RS) sl 1, k10, sl 1, k1, psso, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until all heel stitches have been worked, ending with row 2.
12 stitches remain.
Gusset
Round 1: on needle 1 - knit heel sts, pick up and knit 16 sts on right side of heel flap; on needle 2 - k10, WLP1, k10; on needle 3 - pick up and knit 16 sts along left side of heel flap then knit 6 from heel (22,30,22=74)
Round 2: on needle 1, knit to the last 3 stitches, k2tog, k1; k30 on needle 2; on needle 3, k1, sl 1, k1, psso, knit to end (72sts)
Round 3: needle 1- knit; needle 2 - k10, WLP3, k10; needle 3 - knit
Round 4: knit
Round 5: on needle 1- knit to last 3 stitches, k2tog, k1 ; needle 2 - k10, WLP5, k10; needle 3 - k1, sl 1, k1, psso, knit to end (70 sts)

Foot should measure around 6 1/2 " from back of heel or 2 1/2" less than desired total length. For larger sizes, knit more rounds until that measurement is reached.

Round 1: needle 1 - knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1; needle 2 - k1, sl 1, k1, psso, knit to last 3 sts., k2tog, k1; needle 3 - k1, sl 1, k1, psso, knit to end (4 sts dec'd. : 56 sts remain)
Round 2: knit
Repeat rounds 1 & 2 10 times (i.e. they will have been worked 11 times in all). 16 sts. remain. Knit sts from needle 1 onto needle 3. Graft toe. Weave in ends.
