A burst of blue

I sowed some cornflowers late last August, kept them in the greenhouse over the winter, and now here's the first one in bloom today.

Hooray! In Maine we have some snow drops (sudden white not from snow!) and, in warm corners, purple crocuses, and, under a bush in a warm corner, bright yellow dandelions, but the latter two are rare in our very early spring landscape!
