I didn't manage to finish these in time for Christmas, but they'll do for general winter wear anyway; they are the Comfort & Joy socks by Olivia of This Handmade Life.
I used the specified wool - Camarose Yaku - and have plenty left for another similar project.
The heel shaping (known as a strong heel, apparently) was a new technique for me and I'll be interested to see how it fits compared to my usual flap-and-gusset kind.
The hand-embroidered project bag is from Sherry Iris.
(Edited to add: you can find Olivia's patterns on Etsy, too.)
I take my life in my hands when I pop over here Karen, as if your book choices were not wonderful enough you then wow us with your beautiful handiwork. I know I will not be able to resist a peek at that pattern! Thank you for the link. Sherry's bags are delightful too.

You're welcome, Teresa.
It's just occurred to me that that little colour work band of holly could be used on a plain sock (rather than the micro-striped one here) to similarly lovely effect, and perhaps repeated near the toe.
