Blooming

Snake's head fritillaries in the rain - and do have a look at Deborah's beautiful painting of these lovely flowers.

There is also a painting by Elizabeth Blackadder of fritillaries with orchids which is rather lovely, and of course at least one work by C R Mackintosh. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a study by Margaret Macdonald too, but I have not been able to find one.

Adore fritillaries. I once bought my mother a pot of them for Mother's Day which then did well in her garden. I simply must get some for mine.
