I love this photo as it evokes a perfect rainy day. I found Melissa Harrison's book too light a read but enjoyable nonetheless. I would thoroughly recommend Alexandra Harris's Weatherland: Writers & Artists under English Skies to take you through longer spells of rain.

"A perfect rainy day" -- there's nothing more perfect! I love your blog, Karen, and recommend it all the time. It's like entering a cozy place with so many rooms and things to see, all steeped in great smells from the kitchen, and lovely views of the garden through the windows. And we can't forget the lady in the chair knitting yet another beautiful piece I want to try.

Yes, I began Weatherland a while ago and then had to put it aside to read something else (for a deadline), but I enjoy Alexandra Harris very much and must go back to that book.
