If you're a member of Kate Davies's Knitting Season club and you've got today's most interesting extract from Kate's new book Do Nothing: A Counterintuitive Guide to Creative Making, then you'll have read all about Mrs. Delany.
That phenomenal lady has featured here, so if you want to know a little more about her and her work, there are several posts to look at:
Friday flowers - Mrs. Delany's (in which I go to the British Museum and am allowed to handle the collages themselves)
Thank you for the links Cornflower. And I wholeheartedly agree, I enjoyed reading 'today's most interesting extract' from Kate's new book very much this morning.

Thank you, Cath - much food for thought in Kate's piece.

I have three very dull jobs on my to do list this morning Karen and now I find myself somewhat obsessively researching Mrs Delany! Errrr - thank you! What an interesting story. I wonder if Kew Gardens knows about her? Someone there must - her work and connections would make a good link. And how wonderful to have seen original work in the British Museum! Will be interested to hear how KDD Knitting Club works out. As a 'basic' knitter I find her patterns on the terrifying end of the spectrum!

Apologies for creating a diversion, Anne!
Kew sent Mrs. D. plants for her work. I don't know whether it figures there in any way nowadays - it would be interesting to find out.
Re. Kate Davies, I'm a pretty basic knitter too - don't think I've actually made one of her designs yet - but I was intrigued by the new club and am looking forward to seeing what all is in it.
