In the garden yesterday, in a heavy drizzle, planting bulbs, I had a robin as a companion. We see them often, but this one was barely an arm's length from me, singing away all the time I was working, a joy to listen to and to watch* (much like this chap).
The picture above is by Sherry Iris's son Christopher Wood and came with Sherry's 'A Country Garden Christmas' yarn advent calendar which is shaping up to be a true box of delights! Sherry's Instagram gives a good idea of her style and skill.
*It was this book which made me see birds in a new light.
