Whenever an Ehrman needlepoint catalogue or brochure arrives, I delight in choosing - if not actually buying - future projects, and they'll be a long way in the future, if my rate of progress on current canvases is anything to go by ... Anyway, among their current sale kits are several by Raymond Honeyman whose use of strong, stylised flower motifs (as in Irises, above) and repeating pattern appeals to me. This post includes a video in which he talks about his influences and working methods.

You may have seen this post about stationery company Cambridge Imprint. If you like those designs and are looking for something similar in the fabric line (some paper products too), try Kiran Ravilious.
It isa pretty design but I cannot imagine my ever doing that kind of thread work.

I've done many such canvases over the years, and I suppose as with so many pursuits the key is to give it your focus and not have many other things on the go at the same time - a lesson I seem to have forgotten!

Aaargh - I am always so tempted by needlepoint but I am so slow and by the time I am half way through I fall out of love with the pattern and grind to a halt.

When I clicked to the catalog sale page my eye was caught by the camper van pattern. Very tempting as I had a red and white van exactly like the one in the center of the pattern. Drove four children under ten back and forth across the US a few times back in the day. But, I still have a needlework canvas of a loon I need to finish.
Laughing as I read those last two sentences together--reminds me that I was a bit of a loon to drive four small children across the the US in a manual transmission van that could barely make it up hills without all of us moving back and forth to give it momentum. Good times.

There are so many I would buy if only I could complete them in a fraction of the time it actually takes me.
