Mention of (Orcadian) Stanley Cursiter this morning reminded me that I hadn't posted my pictures of this Orkney piece,
one of the hangings made for Melsetter House, designed by May Morris and embroidered by her and Melsetter's chatelaine, Theodosia Middlemore, between 1900 and 1910.
It's on display at the National Museum of Scotland, and you can find better pictures here and a word from the conservator here.
