Do you chop the tomatoes first?

Glorious picture and must do dish

Nothing says "summer" more than beautifully sweet tomatoes.
Great way to use all those tomatoes ripening fast on the kitchen bench too!
I find oregano or basil also complements the tomato flavour. I think your delicious sauce would lend itself well to many types of Mediterranean herbs Karen.
You have us poor Southern hemisphere souls begging for warmer (tomato) weather. :)

Cornflower

Not the small (cherry or baby plum) ones, but I halve or quarter the larger varieties.

So easy!

Speaking of warmer weather, Mr. C. was tearing basil to go on a tomato salad yesterday, and the smell of that wonderful summery herb was at odds with the chill Edinburgh day - only 9 deg. here in the morning!

Erika

What a wonderful sauce recipe. I cooked it it yesterday when undecided what to produce for supper and having a chili ristra hanging in front of me in the kitchen--recently sent by my mother-in-law, from New Mexico.

Thank you so much.

Cornflower

You're welcome, Erika! I am glad it was a success.
