Finishing one pair of socks has led to starting another. I've had the yarn (Posh merino/bamboo) for ages, and am again using the Red Wine and Port Socks pattern from Jane Brocket's The Gentle Art of Knitting (it gave a great result the first time). I'm liking the Karbonz needles
, by the way, and I'm using the fifth one of the set for the cabling - it holds the stitches well.

Gorgeous yarn, I love the colour. Thanks for reminding me about that pattern, I meant to try it when I got the book. I must put a copy with my sock yarns

I'm sure it's just a temporary burst of (no doubt displacement) activity, Anne! I'll be back to my old ways soon.

It's a very nice pattern, straightforward but with enough interest and good results.

What a wonderful mixture of colours, makes me think of heather on the North yorkshire moors! Beautiful. Bravo for the socks too.
