Rose has kindly sent me details of an event next month in aid of Southwark Cathedral's All Hallows Project, and it sounds as though it will be a delightful evening and one I'd attend were I closer.
On 7th. November at 6.30pm, Geoffrey Munn - whom many of us know so well from his appearances on Antiques Roadshow - will give an illustrated talk entitled "From my Beloved Albert - The Personal Jewellery of Queen Victoria". This will take place in the Cathedral's Garry Weston Library, and will be followed by a champagne* reception, and given Geoffrey Munn's obvious love of his subject as well as his extensive knowledge, it's bound to be a sparkling occasion all round and one that's fascinating and fun as well.
Tickets may be purchased from the Cathedral shop (020 7367 6710) or via Rose herself (020 7367 6704), or online here (with booking fee).
*Internationally award-winning English Sparkling wine made using the Champagne grape varietals, supplied by Wine Pantry.
I bet it would be a really interesting evening - he is so passionate about his 'jewels'. I saw him once out of context once whilst we were having a pub lunch at The Globe in Well-next-the-sea. In he walked with his wife, there was a bit of nudge-nudge-wink-wink going on in the pub as people recognised him but he was left in peace. It's funny isn't it when you see someone so often on the tv you feel as though you know them.

I wish I could go! I dote on Geoffrey Munn: so clever, so knowledgeable, so romantic. By far my favourite Antiques Roadshow bod. I spotted him at Prince Charles's wedding but I expect he's discreet about his present day royal connections.

Geoffrey Munn is wonderful to listen to on the television and must be even more fascinating in person!

The Geoffrey Munn fan club (if such exists) must have a very large membership; he is excellent!
