We were talking about a new Nigel Slater book the other day, but if you have a copy of his last one, The Kitchen Diaries II, I can recommend the Baked Chicken with Tomatoes and Olives on page 322. No pictures to show, but it was very, very good, and we had it with couscous, as NS suggests.

Ian mcEwan makes chicken with green olives, turmeric, tomatoes, white wine, preserved lemon and orange zest....found the recipe in a newspaper interview. Baked on low heat for ages and very tasty indeed...

That sounds promising. Somehow, I don't see Mr. McEwan as a cook, but you never know!

How strange. I had already planned to have that for supper tonight.

Then the veg box arrived so I did Hugh's summer vegetable soup. I'll do the chicken tomorrow!

Hah!
By the way, I had the leftovers cold for lunch - still very good.
