Claire

Snow showers on/off here in Perthshire. Enjoy your afternoon of knitting and reading. I have just registered for a Fair Isle knitting workshop. I have no Fair Isle experience so feeling rather nervous now! I think I might do a bit of knitting homework this snowy day!

Dark Puss

Structurally it is now somewhat wet and compacting so quite good for making snowcats and snowballs. In terms of depth, yesterday at my University we had about 8 cm when I left early for home and probably about 5 cm here (N London). No transport problems for me yesterday or today (though I only went as far as Knightsbridge for my flute lesson).

Rosie

A light dusting at the deg of the Fens (think icing sugar) but the perfect reason to curl up with knitting and the Celtic Connections festival on iplayer.

Cornflower

The best of luck with the workshop, Claire! I launched into Fair Isle and taught myself as I went along, so you'll be fine I'm sure.

Cornflower

It was very fluffy here and rather nice for a walk last night. Today it's been disappearing but I gather we can expect more. Glad you had no transport problems, DP.

Cornflower

Lovely!

Claire

Thank you for your confidence, Cornflower.

Freda

Still waiting here in Argyll!

Cornflower

Ah, the mild west!

Audrey

No snow, just cold and getting colder. We did have one of those beautiful fluffy snows on Wednesday where every branch of every tree was outlined...

Dark Puss

Sunday update, fine powder snow has been falling here in N London since about 08:40. About 1cm so far.

Cornflower

Beautiful!

Cornflower

Ours has all but disappeared.

Liz Davey

Still snowing in Warwickshire. Beautiful, thick and powdery. Dogs love it!

Cornflower

Ours love it, too, though Pippin barks at snowmen, but what fun they have in it.

MelD

Reading that same Pears book in the beautiful sunny, snowy, sparkly Engadin!
I feel very lucky!!

ps I also read "Altdorf" and "Morgarten" for some Swiss history - they don't seem to have had much publicity but I enjoyed the writing, by J.K. Swift and similar to the Mists of Avalon retelling of legend and in style...

Cornflower

Thankyou for those recommendations, Mel, and enjoy that marvellous Swiss snow!

Zoe

We got our snow later than most - here on the coast. Thank goodness it's all gone now. Thanks for the comment re Rowan. Nice to hear from you. x

Cornflower

I think we feel a little hard done by here as our snow didn't amount to much, but then when it disrupts everything we're glad to see the back of it. Fingers crossed re. Rowan!
