I paid a whirlwind visit to London yesterday (read all about it here and perhaps win a book, too) and as it was a mad dash there was no time for sight-seeing or photography as such,
but I did stop to take a picture or two of the exuberantly Victorian Gothic St. Pancras hotel.
I saw it featured on Climbing Great Buildings (the programme was shown again recently), a whole new perspective on that imposing and super-confident edifice.
Oh, that is a stunning piece of architecture and what a fabulous day you had in London, you lucky woman!

Yes, a super day, and worth the long trip!

Have you been inside yet?
Also do you know of the two books on London Illustrated Geological Walks in London? The geology of London proper is not so interesting to the visitor, but the geology to be found in the building (and cladding) stones is very impressive and varied. A lot of different natural materials adorn the exterior of St. Pancras Chambers as I'm still going to call the hotel that you illustrate in your post today.

No, I haven't been inside, and thankyou for the information about the books - a perfect subject for the 'looking up' category on this site.
