Being generally a 'behind the times' sort of person, I'm not really up with the television programmes of the moment*. I was aware of all the talk about the Danish crime thriller The Killing, though I never watched it, but what seemed to excite the most comment was a character's jumper! So never mind the gritty drama, let's look at the woollens**, for in case you haven't seen it here is an article on the sweater's Faroese designers.
*I have never seen Downton Abbey, even!
** The reference to handknits permits a small progress shot of mitten no. 1, and of the dinky bag the work is being carried in which I have thanks to Mindroom at Muirfield.
Since you mentioned the Faroes I thought I'd draw your readers attention to the folk-metal band Týr from the same Islands. Obervant viewers will note however a lack of the distinctive sweaters! Perhaps the lads need your help ...

You've missed a treat with The Killing. Totally gripping.

I'll let you off Downton - I do feel slightly embarrassed by my own encyclopaedic knowledge! - but you mustn't miss the next series of The Killing. Georgina is right, it's gripping.

Thanks for the link to the sweater (jumper) article.
I don't think we have The Killing series over here...I'm still watching old Midsomer Murders while I knit my indigo cotton Cornish Frock from Indigo Knits...and finish up the Mitered Squares blanket which I learned about from your post!

I watched series two of The Killing on 19 November and the first two episodes were fantastic! I strongly commend it to you. They are repeated tonight on BBC4 and are available on iPlayer too of course.
