I've tried halloumi on an number of occasions (never cooked it myself however) and I have been completely underwhelmed by it. Is it really worth it? Is there a source of halloumi that is delicious eating?

Cornflower

We like it very much because of its saltiness and its texture; I can't resist a nibble of the raw cheese as I'm slicing it, and then a minute or two in a very hot (dry) frying or grill pan and it's perfect with something like roast veg., but each to his own ...

I'd never heard of halloumi before. Is it like a cross between feta and mozzarella? (You've now made me hungry with your beautiful photography. Just as your booklist always make me wish I had access to your library when I have an overflowing one in my house.)

Cornflower

Yes, I hadn't thought of that, but it is quite like a much firmer mozzarella with the saltiness of feta.
As to the booklist, my library, too, is overflowing, and yet I still want more!!
