It may be the longest day of the year, but the weather here is anything but light and bright and summery. Dreich is the word, with rain all day and no sign of a let-up. Keen souls (myself included, probably) will venture out to get wet at the Botanics' special Midsummer late opening, though it feels more like an evening for sitting by the fire.
As grey as the day itself is my sock, on which I'm making steady progress, though if you look closely you'll see it's far from the misty, murky, drear grey of today's sky, as its subtle variations and touch of sparkle lift it well away from the 'cheerless' range, but if that's still too monochrome for your taste and you're craving something bold and brilliant, click here for a good long video of the great Kaffe Fassett talking about colour and inspiration.
Love your socks - it's finally brightened up here. Your evening trip sounds good whatever the weather.

The gray is supposed to burn off today in the Pacific NW. Fingers are crossed as I so want the wettest spring in Portland history to end!! Dreich is the word, indeedy!!
Lovely sock!! I heart cables and Kaffe Fasset!!
Enjoy your festivities tonight! :)

I sympathize. It is quite bright here at the moment in Edmonton, Albetta, Canada, after we have received a deluge of biblical porportions.
It is giving us the chance to bail out the basement, which went from looking like a map of the Ganges Delta to a swamp. We have been told by those cheerful souls down at the weather office to expect more on Friday-ugh!! Here's hoping they have got it wrong.
I love the sock and Kaffe too
