Just arrived, in advance of the V&A's Quilts 1700-2010 exhibition, the accompanying book subtitled Hidden Histories, Untold Stories.
More on this as I read it, but if you click the picture to enlarge it you'll see at top right a map of England, a detail from a bedcover dated 1797, and bottom right an unfinished coverlet of silks from 1860-70 which cleverly fools the eye and has inspired many a contemporary pattern.
Back to the V&A website, and there's a lot to see on the associated pages including the design a textile feature, and you can visit the blog of exhibition curator Sue Prichard.
When you are down in London later this year, you can get a fast train to Bath to see this exhibition.

Read an article in last weeks Saturday Telegraph colour magazine about the exhibition, and then saw the book had appeared on your side bar. It looks a feast, both book and the exhibition.

Wonderful. I'd have missed the map of England if you hadn't pointed it out!
