Lovely quote. Reminds me of "Every day is a journey and the journey itself is home," from the opening lines of Basho's Narrow Road to the Interior. I've avoided Steinbeck since being traumatized by The Red Pony at the far too tender age of 10 or 11, but you've convinced me to reconsider.
