A great picture - and dying, and being covered in lichens, is the best thing that can happen to the evil roddies!

I'll not let that go by unchallenged! Yes of course we wish to rid the natural environment of the UK from the pestilence of R. ponticum but let us not tar any rhododendrons safely cutlivated within a great Botanic Garden with the same brush. What would Cullen and Chamberlain say (see Notes R.B.G. Edinburgh Vol 39, No.1 and No. 2, 1980) ?
