I attempted to go to a Persephone event in Edinburgh last year but it was over subscribed. How lovely to know I can attend this one so easily. Thank you and DGR for hosting it. Haven't read the book but will read the comments with interest and will obviously enjoy those scones!

This clearly was meant to be as I purchased Good Evening Mrs Craven only at the weekend in Vanessa's new 'grown-up' bookshop in Edinburgh! So I certainly will join in this time - a first for me. I read yesterdays post and comments with interest and please can I add my plea that you don't jettison the blogging! I sympathise totally with the time management issues and I don't do half as much as you. I think it comes down to prioritising and being ruthless - as long as that doesn't affect the blog or coffee!!

Hello Cornflower. I have been visiting your blog with much enjoyment off and on and now have succumbed to regular readership. You are a delight! My copy of this book is in the mail right now and I can't wait to read it. Oh my, you have an Aga--I would steal it and have it shipped to Delaware if only I knew how. When newly married in Cambridge I learnt to cook on one and have missed it ever since.

The cup of tea sitting next to the computer suddenly doesn't seem so appealing without one of your delicious looking scones! Good Evening, Mrs Craven is such a wonderful book, not to mention the first Persephone that I bought.

Pretty tea set.

Wonderful Karen, thank you so much and I'm really sorry to leave with all the washing up again:-)

Oh! I loooooove scone. Think I'll order the book as well. Great post, as always. Thank you!

How lovely! I am half-way through Good Evening, Mrs Craven and must return to it (with tea and cake in hand). Thanks for drawing my attention to the tea-time Classics discussions at Persephone; I was only aware of the evening book group and must pop in for both some time.

This is a lovely new feature on your blog and I look forward to more, Karen.

Happy baking!
