The first fire of the season!
I put down my book (though it was very appropriate for a cold evening), took up my knitting and for once we watched some television - pretty rare for me. All I lacked was special hot chocolate. Next time...
As to fireside reading - what do you think that should be?
Fireside reading = the Outlander series.

Oh yes! The Outlander series for sure!!! I picked up the first book when I was in Inverness in 2001.
Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights would also be on my list for fireside reading.

We had our first fires of the season last Saturday and Sunday evening, they were heavenly! I took the dog for a walk and smiled because we had made the neighbourhood smell of woodsmoke.
Definitely one of the classics for fireside reading, I'm about to start Silas Marner by George Eliot.

The Little Stranger, by Sarah Waters.
The perfect book for the fireside, especially in October.
