Not actually photographed on my desk (clutter? what clutter? the light was all wrong for the picture, you see....) but sitting there now, some Daphne odora Aureomarginata cut from the garden where no-one was getting the benefit of its delicate flowers and its lovely, Lily of the Valley-like scent.
(Also on my desk there's a book or two!)
Lovely! I, also, brought some flowers into the house today. When I went out to the shops I came across an abandoned shopping trolley with 2 traffic cones flung in haphazardly. Underneath the cones were a heap of yellow tulips, squashed and neglected. I rescued 3 which were hanging out the side. They now sit in a glass jug to the right of my computer and are a joy to the eye!

Aren't you lucky to have that daphne in your garden! I agree, the scent is fabulous.

First thought it was a picture of a hyacinth, which I absolutely love the smell off.

Daphnes are blooming here also. Heavenly scent.
