What makes a usually level-headed, dutiful person go off the straight and narrow and do something rash and wild? Maybe I have more weaknesses than I will admit, but for now it is a load of yarn to which I have succumbed. It's not just any old wool that can tempt me to be unfaithful to my current projects, though, it has to be something special, something tantalisingly beyond my grasp, something forbidden - by my level of skill, at least, something deep, dark and dangerous.
I have been seduced, Swedish style, by Bohus Knitting. These things start innocently enough, a word, a glance, an imagined touch, but before you know it you are well and truly smitten and feel the uncontrollable urge to possess the object of your desires - in this case, a kit from Solveig Gustafsson.
It was the likes of this and this which caught my eye in the first place, and then there was this, and I'd reached the tipping point. A tentative inquiry was made, currency conversion done, order placed and before I could say "stranded knitting", the goods were here. So what am I to be making? Well, given that this is fine yarn (2 ply, 50% merino, 50% angora), and I have to use tiny needles (2mm to start with) and follow a chart and do colourwork, the answer is likely to be "a fine old mess", but it is supposed to be the "Large Lace Collar Tam and Scarf" which you can see on Solveig's site. Better look at it there, in fact, because it may take years before there's anything to see back here.
I may be mad and bad, but a little flirtation, a dalliance, a full-blown affair, even, is now beyond resistance!
But you are not, I think, dangerous to know! I can also assist with the flirtation part too, perhaps I could invite you for a coffee?!

Glorious! I'm sure you will enjoy every stitch.
I've heard that shade cards should only be sold from the top shelf in the Newsagent - I don't know to what they are referring...

Obviously your blog is getting interference from another transmission. Can you imagine, it says here that you did something "rash and wild"! Huh, ridiculous; now if it was my god-daughter, I could understand it, but I suspect babeswithbrains don't consider knitting at the frontier of teenage behaviour!

Yarns look just heavenly. Just ENJOY the process; every single minute of it.
