When we were in Hampshire last month we visited Houghton Lodge for a walk round the lovely gardens.
The pictures give a flavour of the grounds of this pretty eighteenth century "cottage ornee" by the River Test, but there was more to our calling in than just a desire to see a beautiful place.
Cutting a long story short, I was there not just to look at the hydroponicum, the puffing topiary dragon, or to discover the Jane Austen connection,
but to collect something to do with these fellows, Tom, Dick and Harry.
More in the next post on that and on what came in yesterday's post!

How exciting - please tell us it was a lovely bundle of yarn! Looking forward to reading all about it in your next post!

My first thought was that you must be collecting llamas' toenails to make Peruvian musical instruments ... and then I remembered knitting. As you'll guess from the order of my thoughts, I'm no knitter! But the toenails isn't as daft as it sounds - I went on a llama walk years ago and somebody had made rattles from their toenail clippings, passed them around and said "Guess what this is?"

Well thank you for suggesting another Hampshire day out. In turn, I'll say don't forget the Edinburgh open day today!
By the way, I don't like to let my tbr pile grow greater than about ten as my house is full of books.
