Regular readers of the knitting posts may remember that I recently made some mitts and a scarf for a sale of work in aid of Mindroom which is to be held later in the year. My friend Peter suggested they be professionally photographed - and here they are.
My thanks to the beautiful model, Dawn, for making simple things look incredibly glamorous, to Morgana for her skill with the camera and the styling, and to Peter for coming up with the idea and seeing it through. The results speak for themselves!
The Cranford Mitts pattern was designed by Jane and is available from Natalie at The Yarn Yard; the Airy Scarf pattern is from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. I just put the yarn on the needles and played with it for a bit.
PS Click on the bottom picture to read the title of the book which has sent Dawn into raptures!
I am so pleased with the end result, perhaps I should do this more often! Peter

I wonder what the ladies of Cranford would think?

Fantastic pictures! I love the colour you made the Cranfords, and why have I only just discovered your blog? I look forward to browsing!

Dear "Knit Nurse", the book, at least the edition I own which Dawn is holding, was published around 1890 (sorry I don't have it to hand) so you will need to search the second-hand market for your own copy. I can indeed recommend it to you, but you will have to excuse the rather flowery writing and a certain amount of jingoism.

Just shows that knitting's not just for grannies. The title of the book is surely the biggest oxymoron since shakespeare was penning plays. Cool work.

Dear "Alison", very pleased indeed you think the work "cool". However I disagree completely with your assessment of the book in the third picture - have you read it?
