Well I'd say you're going fly fishing, but where specifically I don't know. Have fun!

Margaret Powling

Off at a tangent again, husband Chris and I once did a one-day course in fly fishing (so that I could write a feature about it) at the superb fishing hotel, the Arundell Arms in West Devon. It was great fun (but it poured with rain all the time and, after a morning practising casting, the weather turned so bad that we ended up learning how to tie flies as the river had become dangerously swollen for us to attempt casting with a hook on the end!)
Wherever you are going, and if it's fishing, then enjoy it!

Donna

My guess is you are tripping off to Hampshire. Have a lovely trip, and I hope the fish are biting. Donna

P.S.. Thanks for your comments on my posting today.

Claire

I don't know where you are going but I love that dog. Happy holiday.

Becky

My husband would wither up with jealousy--or envy (which one is the lesser sin?). . . Though Maine has wonderful fly fishing, Scotland is the acknowledged holy land and someday. . . . Enjoy. Hope they bite!

Carol

Fly fishing in Hampshire - on the River Test? Enjoy ....

This post prompted a fun ramble through new tabs in search of H Plunket Greene and the little B.Rivulet which led to an interesting article in the Telegraph written 10/6/07.

Ed and I are envious.

Tara

Have a wonderful time!

I didn't do a very big search - opened only one link - and for some reason, settled on Wales as your destination, probably waaay off course, but it did bring one thing to mind. After your mention of the Library Hotel in NYC I remembered another - it's in Wales (but not far from Chester). Let us know what the destination is. Info. on the _other_ (much older) library hotel:
"St Deiniol's is the UK's finest residential library...in North Wales. Founded in 1889 by William Ewart Gladstone, St Deiniol's is located in the picturesque village of Hawarden, just 10 minutes drive from Chester and 15 minutes from the M56 motorway."
"Apart from the Library itself, visitors can enjoy homemade meals in our newly refurbished restaurant, relax in comfortable accommodation, browse our Gladstone Exhibition or reflect in the tranquil atmosphere of our new chapel..." (cont'd.)
