I'm not good enough to be a perfectionist! I've had to settle for these pictures even though they just aren't quite right for colour, but since finishing these mitts this morning I've photographed them indoors and out, in full sun and Edinburgh greyness and try as I might I can't get them 'just so'.
In real life they are a luscious dark cherry red with a beautiful sheen, set off well by their black mohair trim. The pattern is of course Cranford Mitts by Jane, available from Natalie, and this time the yarn is Fyberspates Scrumptious 'Cherry' edged in Kidsilk Haze 'Wicked'.
Very elegant, good enough for an evening glove.

'Very lovely!' I said, sitting in an extremely hot and humid summertime in America.

I've just stumbled across your lovely blog and am thoroughly enjoying reading your posts. Have to pop across to Amazon now to order some of the books you've recommended but I'll be back! Love the mitts, too.

Love the gloves!!
I know reddish colour (or just darker colours) is always difficult to take photos! Great idea to use kidsilk on the edges because it makes the whole thing very stylish.
By the way, I linked your blog to mine. Hope that's OK.

Oooh, very nice combination and rather racy. Would have been the talk of Cranford I should think!

Fabulous - it's wonderful to see you using the pattern as a starting point and making them very much your own!
