Alexander asked about the significance of the bee in some of the pictures I use here. My reply to his question was bounced back for some reason, so for Alexander and anyone else who's curious, the bee is superimposed by Bridgeman Art Library on all their pictures and is there, as far as I know, in order to stop unauthorised commercial reproduction of the images.
