I do enjoy the creative side of Christmas, and this afternoon I postponed the cleaning and the laundry to make the wreath for our front door. Out to the garden with trug and secateurs, then back in to arrange the greenery. The light was nearly gone by the time I hung up the finished article, so the pictures could be better,
but here's what I used: ivy, rosemary, choisya, skimmia, hebe,
pine, rosehips and rose buds,
red dogwood to act as staples to help fix the sprigs into the oasis. The pine is very resinous, and the choisya and rosemary are scented too, of course, so it has some fragrance as well as colour.
Now it's back to the more mundane jobs.
What a wonderful wreath! Is there anything you are not good at? ;)

Mmm: I can smell that lovely freshly-cut greenery.
Merry Christmas from sunny Southern California!

Cornflower is not as good at physics as Dark Puss is, but that's about it!

That is just gorgeous. Like Lesley, I could just about smell the bosky scents emananting from your photos.
And to think that all we have on the door at The House of Caught Knitting is a "gold" star.

How very lucky you are to be able to go out to your garden and cut all that lovely greenery, at this time of year. The end result is quite lovely.

Lovely, lovely, Karen.

Yep, that's a stunner, Karen! Had my own lovely tramp through the woods to gather the greens. One of the best parts about Christmas, I think.
All the best to you and yours...

Oh that is gorgeous! I love to go out into the backyard to collect greens and flowers for the table, but I've never thought about a wreath! what a great idea.

It is really beautiful, and I love seeing it every time I come in from outside.
