A bit more of BooksPlease's Christmas meme today, and on to the subject of the tree. Pictured here are a few sprigs of ours - it's about 10 or 11 feet tall and it came home from Glentress Forest tied to the roof of the car. It's in situ but so far has only lights on it (and not enough of those because, guess what, one set doesn't work). The old favourite decorations will go on today - maybe - and will remain until Twelfth Night.
Next, music. One of my favourite carols is this one, but then I share Simon's taste for this !!
Dark Puss shares your enthusiasm for the first of the two pieces of music but, despite his broad-ranging tastes, cannot cope with the second! Probably I am too old ...

I was so pleasantly lulled by Coventry Carol, and then clicked the next link and on came Mariah Carey! I can't help but love that song! And my two toddlers immediately jumped up on the coffee table to dance.

I like to hear the first one in a cathedral late at night. Even though I am A Scots Presbyterian myself, i do like to hear Evensong in cathedrals and churches.
The second makes me think of my family, who are all coming home for Christmas. If there is one year when they can't make it, my hubbie and I think we will go on holiday that year, as we've had family Christmasses since they were born...and it would be very different for us without them there.
Great pics, as always. I can almost smell the pine needles. Nothing beats a real tree :)

Coventry Carol: a great favourite. Mariah Carey, er, not on caught knitting's Christmas playlist.
But enough of that: your tree sounds sensational. Ours is about 8 years old now and lives in a pot on the patio most of the year. It will probably be too tall for the house next year, though. You must have really high ceilings.
