I've been tagged again, this time by Dee, to reveal seven things about myself. Forgive the visual pun, but that's just 'part of the picture', and the part I've chosen to disclose is alternative careers.
If I could, I'd like to be:
1. A doctor. I dropped science at school and went wholeheartedly down the arts route, finally choosing to be a lawyer, but medicine (particularly with a holistic approach) has always fascinated me.
2. A farmer. The Good Life beckons! I'd keep rare breed pigs and grow 'heritage' vegetables. Throw in a few horses and alpacas, maybe some cows, I could wear my wellies all day and I'd have fun.
3. A musician. Of all the arts, music is probably the most instantly powerful, and if my piano-playing was a thousand times better than it is, I'd take to the platform. I'm in awe of those who do.
4. An artist. Self-expression and the creation of beautiful things - how lovely that would be.
5. A florist. Same reason as for 4.
6. A magnate. Power and influence appeal , and I'd get the chance to say "You're fired!".
7. A writer. What avid reader doesn't have a hankering to write? It's the one item on the list that I've actually done - there's a finished novel sitting in my desk drawer; it will most likely stay there, but at least I can say I wrote it.
Now that's quite enough self-exposure for one day.
What a delightfull and clever post. You sound very well rounded in your interests - intellectual, spiritual, creative.
Is that a poppy or tulip in the first photo? My big red poppies are getting ready to bloom. They are one of my favourites.

Dark Puss HAS a doctorate (he is a "real doctor" but not a "proper doctor"). He thus puts a paw on 2 (but for trees not animals), 3 (but only after another 1000 flute lessons!), 4 (as a sculptor) and would substitute architect for florist. He feels he is magnetic enough already, and knows that although widely published what he has written is almost completely incomprehensible.
His real success in life (apart from his own family) is having a few friends as special as Ms Cornflower.

What a wonderful twist. I'm very intrigued by the novel. We share very similar taste in books; if your novel is influenced by any of those early 20th century writers, I know I would enjoy it.

Very interesting - I wanted to be a farmer, too, but I don't think I would like the lack of a bi-weekly pay cheque! A farmer is certainly a career that is at the mercy of the elements and the market!
Our DD has written a novel, but it may also linger in her desk drawer.

This is a great take on the 7 random things! When I was a child, I chose 7 different occupations for "when I grew up". I figured I would do one each day of the week! :0)

Thank you for this peek into your home and your psyche. I, too, wanted once to be a doctor. I am so glad I didn't go that route. You are most certainly A Writer. Perhaps someday you will bring that novel out of the drawer and we will all be the better for it.

How fascinating. I should put this on my blog and tag some people. Although I'd have to think of 7 things. A few leap to mind..
