A very grey day, with frequent heavy showers, may not seem the best time to take photographs, but I like the stark quality the light (or lack of it) has given to these pictures which I took quite close to home.
The massive-ness of the stone lions and the swooping curves of the wrought iron are all the more dramatic against the louring sky.
I wonder whether whoever created these shapes imagined them being seen in quite this way.
Nice photos! I asked a photographer once about how happy very bright sunny days made him and he said not very happy. He actually likes the type of days shown in your pics!

Beautiful photos, I especially like the lion. I wonder what he might be guarding, perhaps the gates to Bleak House or maybe Thornfield. Your images certainly give my imagination a good workout.
