Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a stirrup glass. In the shape of a hunting horn, it would have been carried on a pierced tray (the stem going through a hole and the bowl resting on the flat) and filled with a stirrup cup to brace the hunt for the rigours to come.
Here is is inverted with the bulbous endpiece resembling a glass eye!
The bubbles within the material just add to the play of light
and the tonal variation.

I have never seen a 'stirrup' glass before, but that is a beautiful specimen! I wonder what the drink of choice would be.
I entered for the book - wish me luck!
