I had to go out on an errand this morning, but the grey, wet weather didn't deter me.
Having seen Lisa's beautiful photograph (wouldn't that make a stunning textile design?) I was inspired to take the camera and see what caught my eye.
Edinburgh's stone buildings always stand out against the lightless sky; the city may look as though it is wearing a frown, but I'm not so sure!
It is possible to have a dour countenance and yet be inwardly happy and bright, is it not?
My destination was
The Scottish Gallery where I'd gone to collect a gift bought for us by our generous friend The Prof.
I was going to say that the colours of the mystery item I was to pick up (all I knew about it in advance was its catalogue reference number) were not those of the city around me today,
but actually, they are not that far off.
All will be revealed later.....
Karen, I believe someone was ahead of you and did design a fabric with the look of the bare branches against the sky. I like the composition.
When I see your lovely old stone buildings, it makes me feel like I live in a new frontier with our mainly cedar buildings!

Lovely!! You've done such a wonderful job with the theme. This is fun. We should play with themes regularly and just see how our results compare. I've been on fences today. Any of those around you could explore? If not I'm sure we could come up with something...

Love the photos today. There is something about this kind of day that I appreciate.

The photos are beautiful, I particularly like the branches against the grey sky. I want to know more about the mystery object ...

You really are a very special photographer, Karen. Each picture you take is different from another, yet the viewer would still know it was yours. I am so impressed, at both your subject matter and the photos themselves. I particularly like the shiny coats of those black beauties. :<)
