I remember the pure promise, or so it seemed to me, with which my school jotters were imbued. The start of a new term, fresh ideas, discoveries to be made, and the responsibility of filling all those ruled or squared pages, narrow feint and margin, with neat, correct answers and - in all subjects - 'good work'. Alongside the desire to acquire knowledge and to do well was, subconsciously I think, the wish to create a satisfying body of work; to have produced by the end of the year something worth reading, and to have by way of decoration to those carefully handwritten pages, a few 'V.G.'s and gold stars to mark those small achievements.
So, with pencils finely sharpened, and pens arranged parallel to the edge of the desk, I shall open the book at page one and begin.
Welcome to blog world, the colour of that cornflower has me mesmerised already and I'm looking forward to dropping in here.
Have a gold star for taking the plunge:-)
