I have finished stitching the spirits on our panel of the Tapestry and I've passed it on to the next member of the group to complete the curving line on the right which links them to the sea (hence that unstitched section in the bottom picture).
Lucy has come up with the perfect poem to embroider on the 'bandages' which swathe the soldier and his mother; it's by Violet Jacob - whose work I'd not come across before - and so, taking one of its lines, our sea spirits are now our 'ghaists i' the air'.
