Cornflower is five years old today, and I'm quietly very pleased to have reached that milestone. It represents a lot of books read, cakes baked, flowers photographed, paintings admired, a bit of knitting done, and a record of many of the odds and ends of daily life - some of which might have gone unnoticed or unremarked without the particular focus the site has given me; I seem to have come a long way since I began.
It is also five years' worth of readers popping in daily, leaving comments or sending me emails, giving helpful information or showing appreciation, and that encouragement is what has got me to this point. Thankyou, everyone, for your interest.
We can't have a birthday without a present or two, so let's have a draw. I haven't finally decided on the prizes yet, though I do have an idea, so to put your name in the hat to be in with a chance of winning 'something' in what will be a bit of a lucky dip, please leave a comment here naming five of your favourite things (they could be books, flowers, food, places, people, a mixture of whatever you want). Everyone is welcome to enter - distance is no object - so please have a go, and I'll draw the winners in a few days.
